Or; How Many Celebrities Can Kick The Bucket in a Single Week

(Fucking A, I never use this thing anymore!)

...and 3 of them are actually kind of sad. The last one I'm going to mention, which is the one EVERYONE can't stop talking about...well, the vultures can have him for all I give a fuck.

Farrah Fawcett: I think I came along *just* after her fame had fallen off, so I was never a huge fan, but I think she was a wonderful person. I did watch the special she put on, and gained a big admiration for a strong, resilient woman who just didn't put up with any bullshit. She kicked much ass and took many names. Even after going through those treatments and suffering horrible pain, she was still able and willing to hand the tabloid people their own asses. I may not have known her through her work, but I started checking her out a lot more and what I did find out about her was really nothing but admirable. You will be missed, Farrah. I actually cried a little when I found out this amazing woman had finally gone to her final home. At least there is no more pain, girlfriend. She's now with the real angels, kicking ass in heaven.

Ed McMahon: Didn't really know much about him either, but he seemed to have a lot of crap handed to him late in life. He seemed to be a pretty funny dude. Again, a useful member of the human race. But he was old. Not a real surprise.

Billy Mays: Dude, seriously? The infomercial dude! Never again will we hear this guy trying to sell us OxyClean or the Awesome Auger. I'm a little sad. Like when the movie guy...whatzisname...Don LaFontaine. (Gotta love the internet). Infomercials will never be the same. I wonder what he's pitching in heaven?

...and because I can't avoid mentioning this waste, this being "dead celebrities week"...Michael Jackson. Even if he *didn't* get his kicks touching little boys, this guy was a douche. Yeah, he could sing and dance, like 20 years ago. The last 20 years, though, what did he do besides fuck up his face, dress his children up in masks and dangle babies out of windows? And WHAT are they thinking, leaving his children with his 79 year old mother? They do know that his father is abusive, I mean duh? Isn't that why the guy was fucked up in the first place? Bloody hell. Stupid. I'm sorry. Just because the guy is dead doesn't make him any less of a douche.

So flame me. I don't give a fuck. My journal, my opinion, my business.

Holy poop on a stick
SO many bad, bad words came to my mind immediately upon viewing this travesty of outright bullshit. I wanted to voice my thoughts and opinions in an articulated, well-thought out form. Unlike the makers of this video. But coherent thoughts are not possible after viewing this garbage. Not when the only thoughts in your head are "HOW? HOW? HOW?" That's literally all I could think. HOW are "they" infringing on my rights? HOW are "they" affecting my ability to raise my child? (At least she will have compassion and love if she had anything...yes, ANYTHING, to tell me) HOW did this rectal waste find it's way into my brain?

Congratulations, NOFM. You have succeeded in eradicating my ability to want to think for myself anymore. I may now become another right wing crazy Christian holding pictures of dead babies while picketing abortion clinics while my own child has the same mind numbing brain killing bullshit crammed down her throat by a charismatic preacher named Timothy Miracle who eventually becomes a cult leader and we all die a horrible death while stockpiling arms because JESUS IS COMING!

Ok...no. Just no.

I posted all of the above in 2 comments on YouTube.

Tweets, twits or twats

A Twitter rant.

No offense to those who use/like it...but it has to be said. I FUCKING HATE TWITTER! Hate it with an all consuming, burning, flaming pile of hot, hot hate. I seriously think that the world is conspiring to kill all thought. 99.999% of Twitter posts are extremely pointless crap that no one cares to read. 99.1% of Tweets or Twats or whatever the hell it's called even the people who posts them don't care to read. What is the point? Because I don't give a rats ass, really. I don't even like to know what I do every few minutes of the goddamn day. Whoever came up with this needs to have their intestines ripped out of their bunghole, slit with razor blades, covered in salt and shoved right back up there.

I say we start Twatter.com. This site will only be used to inform our friends of our shits and nothing else. No “I am drinking coffee at McDonalds” or "My dog just did the cutest thing!" twatters, but rather “Hey, just took a really big dump. It's sticking out of the water” or "Twas awful squishy today. Maybe I shouldn't have had those beans."

It would be more interesting than the vast majortity of crap posted on Twitter. If I offended you, well, honestly can't say I give a shit. I'm allowed to bitch about it on my journal, and you're allowed to post em on yours.
My God it has been forever since I updated this thing

Not that anyone I know even reads this. Oh well. I guess I'll update on the latest thing that happened. Or I may delete this journal later on, I don't know yet.

I made an arrangement with my manager and another coworker that I would not work Saturday, I would work on Sunday because they had me scheduled me too many hours. Well Billie, the marketing manager, called me, *twenty minutes* after my supposed scheduled shift and said, "You're scheduled to work today,". I called her back and told her that I had made an arrangement with Mike (my manager) and another coworker, blah blah blah.

She started yelling at me. Told me if I didn't make it in tonight, I was fired. We got into a huge argument, I told her I couldn't because I had no one to watch my daughter. She told me it was my responsibility to check my schedule. I told her I DID, that's why I made that arrangement and I would try but I did not think I could make it in. She threatened to fire me, because I was "calling in". I then informed her I'm NOT calling in, I thought the arrangement was a go so technically, NO, I'm not calling in.

The phone conversation ended with me bawling (I was crying, I was that pissed off.) About two seconds before I was going to pick up the phone to call her back and tell her I quit, she called me back, said "she thought about what I said" and ended up Donna was coming in to work for me but I had to come work for her tommorrow. I told her "that's what I was going to do *anyway*". She apologized, but I told her "thank you, but right now I'm not ready to accept it." And I'm not. I DO NOT appreciate being yelled at and threatened by someone who is supposed to be a professional. I may just be a peon, and she may think she's big shit because she's the new marketing manager, but I am still a human being and I would NEVER talk to anyone the way she talked to me today. She needs to learn that just because she's a big cheese, she still needs to show decorum and respect for the people under her.

She told me that my scheduled time was 2-10 for Sunday. She said, "I have the schedule right in front of me." Well, my manager (Mike) calls around noon on Sunday and tells my boyfriend that I'm supposed to be in at 11. 11-7. So basically, she deliberately lied to me. I walked in to work, and I asked Mike if I was in danger of being fired. He said, "No, but I am going to write you up."

I thought about it all of 2 seconds before I said, "You know, I'll just save you the trouble. I quit. Goodbye." And I caught my boyfriend before he was able to leave me behind. Why should I be wrote up when the market manager who "had the schedule in front of her" told me the wrong time on purpose, probably intending that I get wrote up!

If I'm working for someone that petty and immature, I seriously don't have to put up with it. I don't have to work. I have a chronic mental illness. I am on disability. I work part time sometimes to make a little extra money and to help out the company I'm working for. I am a loyal and trustworthy and hardworking person. I will not work for a company that hires people that deliberately lie to their employees to get them in trouble. I don't think she thought I'd quit, well she had another thing coming. You can't fire someone if they quit.

Good luck finding someone as good at the job as I was, willing to work all weekends. I prefer weekend work because most of the time I don't have my daughter on weekends. So really, its their loss, not mine.

I'm calling corporate today and I'm talking to HER boss to register a formal complaint. You can do it anonymously, but I'm NOT going to do it that way. I'm giving my name, and telling whoever it is that I WANT her to know it's me registering the complaint. I'm also letting her boss know that I'm going to him/her because at this time, I don't feel safe talking to her about it. Plus she deserves it. I do not want her to do this to someone who actually needs their job. I'm also letting her boss know that I do have a chronic mental illness, furthermore Billie KNOWS I have a chronic mental illness and you do not yell at and threaten someone who is in a precarious mental state, especially if you have full knowledge of that fact. She ASKED me before I was hired exactly what my disability was, and I'm pretty sure that's against the law. I told her because I thought I could trust her. Guess not.

Ladies and gentlemen, we are fucked.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080929/ap_on_bi_ge/financial_meltdown
Wow. It really looks like we could see a stock market crash today.
It's been projected that this could cause a depression even worse than
the Great Depression. They interrupted Dr Phil for a special report. To
let the ignorant people like me know this could be pretty fucking serious.
To think that we could be facing this scale of an economic crisis is
very, very frightening. Think of what did happen in the Great
Depression. Banks went totally bankrupt. There was a 25% employment
rate. That means that one out of 4 people were unemployed. That's a
huge fucking number. People starved. And it wasn't just an American
thing, this was worldwide.

The consequences of today could be
global. It's scary. With so many people I know already having a
difficult time with employment and facing financial hardship, and a lot
of Americans are really only one paycheck away from total bankruptcy,
this really is a scary situation. I would like to hear your thoughts on
this. Really, I want any one who can comment TO comment, because I
would like to hear some different views, on what, if anything, could be
done. I don't normally <strike>whore myself out like this</strike>ask,
but now I'm kind of begging. :) Anyone? Even if you think what you have
to say doesn't count for much, I just want to hear your thoughts. And
you'll bet I'll be reading and commenting on a ton of journals tonight
if you post about it too.

Thoughts? Anyone? :end whoring:

My most WTF quiz result ever!

You scored as Haruhism
You
scored as... Haruism. You probably are a weirdo, a fan of paranormal
events or only an otaku that understood the quotes of Haruhi in some
questions. You like a lot tales about strange happenings, unbelievable
presences and mysterious events. Do some research about Suzumiya Haruhi
No Yuutsu if you don't know it. But be aware of time-pirates, alien
abductions, sasquatches, ghostbusters and honest politicians!

Haruhism

30%

Judaism

15%

Could somebody please find a link to something that makes sense? This is the <i>strangest</i> result to a quiz I have ever, ever had. I googled this too. I found squat.

And I do *not* favor Satanism above Christianity. Or Athiesm. I am NOT an athiest. I am definitely not a Satanist. I challenge some Christian ideology, and I believe in challenging traditions because <b>that's what Jesus did.</b> Do you think he didn't challenge authority? I don't challenge Jesus's teachings, I challenge <u>the people who follow him</u>, who say and do horrible things in his name. That's probably why I got such a low score on "Christianity" because this quiz had a lot of tradition based questions when it came to Christianity. I have problems with tradition because it involves complacency.

I'm looking for God and he's finding me. Not because I'm following people and not because I'm involved in a group that tells me what to believe.

But this "whatever it" is result I got...is why I hate QuizFarm quizzes. What the hell is this?

I believe in aliens, yeah. I think it's pretty flippin arrogant that we believe that in the huge vastness of space, that has near infinite galaxes, we're even discovering the idea that parallel universes may exist (I saw this on the SCIENCE channel so I'm not pulling that out of my ass)...and yet we believe we are the only planet in that entire vast unimaginable system that can support intelligent life. Maybe aliens have reached us, maybe not. I believe as human beings, we're a wildly paranoid species, and very backward too. I mean, if they have reached us, they are vastly superior to us because we haven't even explored on our own, the planet closest to us. And yet what's the first thing people think aliens do when they reach Earth? Knock us out and place probes in our bums. Come on, seriously. I think they'd have far less invasive ways to check out the inside of our rectal cavity if they wished. *eyeroll*

It's far more likely that we have *not* been visited by aliens. But think if we have, if aliens from distant galaxies have made contact from billions and trillions of light years away...if they have that kind of technology, Earth is probably the universe's equivalent of Earth's Arkansas. In other words, we are a planet of rednecks.

I'm not saying they have or they haven't, though...I just believe they exist, because statistics and physics work together to just say that Earth being the *only* planet that can support life is highly improbable.

How did one quiz result turn into this?
What happened to "Freedom of Speech?"

I'll tell you. Political correctness has obliterated it into a million tiny little pieces and scattered it across the cosmos.

Regardless
of whether the words are bad, racial slurs, gay slurs, sexist
slurs...seriously, everybody needs to grow the fuck up. We are not in Kindergarten. I'd like to think that the majority of the people running
this country and entertainment industry are adults, but it is starting
to seem like we're being run by a bunch of brain damaged monkeys. (I
extend my heartfelt apologies to any brain damaged monkeys who may have
read this.)

Isaiah Washington, a former actor of "Grey's
Anatomy," is only one of what seems to be a slew of people being fired
for saying something offensive. His offensive word was the word
"faggot." Don Imus also comes to mind, using several offensive gay and
racial slurs against somebody from a women's basketball team. And he
was WELL known for being an offensive, abrasive prick, hell! That's
what he was liked for by a lot of his fans!

Do I think what
they said and did was a good thing to do? No. Do I agree with people
who spout off racial, sexist, and gay basing slurs? Hell no! Do I think
these people have extreme asshole tendencies? Yes! Do I think they have
the right to say these horrible offensive things without fear of
retribution?

Absolutely.

This is America, people. It's
called "freedom of speech,". It's in the US Constitution (which seems
to be treated like a really old piece of toilet paper lately, so many
people are wiping their ass with it!) I am reminded by a very old quote
from the French philosopher, Voltaire. "I may not agree with what you have to say, but I will defend, to the death, your right to say it."
Even the KKK, American Nazis, NAMBLA for Christ's sake, a collection of
assholes without enough brain cells to rub two together, under the
Constitution, have the right to spout whatever fucktarded, half-baked
load of spew that seeps into the thick skull that they laughingly
believe holds a brain.

I'm not even discussing Don Imus
because I don't know anything about him except he was consistently
offensive and a dickhead. Isaiah Washington, as far as I know and have
seen, has paid, and paid, and paid again for his stupidity. If those
aforementioned inbred, racist buffoons and child raping motherfuckers
are protected under the Constitution, why is there such a huge uproar
over some guy having a brain fart moment and using the word "faggot" in
a heated argument?

I'm not defending what he said. It was stupid, childish, and petty. But it was something that he has done his time for, so to speak.

I'm sorry. It's really sad when one word can cost a person his career. Agree, disagree, hate me for even daring to speak like this against the PC police? Comment and tell me why! :D

Sunday, June 24, 2007

I joined a Live Journal community 50bookchallenge, "challenging" me to read 50 books in a year. I've probably gone over that because I can read a 500 page novel in 2 hours or less...but I only have 20 reviewed now. I need to go find my booklist I have written in a notebook and write the rest of them. Until then, here's the 20. Keep in mind that this list was lifted (copy/paged) from my personal LJ.

So here's to the books that I've been reading so far this year.

1) Abarat & 2) Abarat: Days of Magic, Nights of War - Clive Barker, and though they are really strange books, and I didn't know if I'd like the series when I started with the first one, I had to quickly
buy the second book. I can't wait until the third one comes out! It's
in the fantasy genre, and a little bit different than normal Clive
Barker books, but they are really worth reading.

3) Frankenstein: Prodigal Son & 4) Frankenstein: City of Night - Dean Koontz,
and unlike the Abarat series, I knew right away that I was in love with
this series. Frankenstein survives to the modern day era. (That's not a
spoiler, that's pretty much given). Yes, awesome series. He NEEDS to
finish it though!

5) The Minister's Daughter - Julie Hearn.
Takes place in the 1600's in England in the middle of the witch craze.
Really, really good book. I love books where the protagonists are young
women in that particular time period. It can be found most likely in
the Young Adult section of the bookstore or library.

6) Twilight - Stephanie Meyer.
I didn't like this book so much. I thought it was a little angsty. It's
a book where a girl falls in love with a vampire. If emo vampires and
young girls who fall in love SO quickly are your cup of tea, I'd
recommend it. It wasn't a horrible book but it wasn't great. I was
dismayed to find that this is actually a series and of course, I have to find out what happens. Bleh.

7) Interview with the Vampire, 8) The Vampire Lestat, 9) Queen of the Dammed - Anne Rice.
I actually read these books when I was 14, but I had forgotten what
happened in most of them so I read them again. I loved them then and I
love them now. End of story. :)

10) The Magicians Nephew & 11) The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe - C.S Lewis.
I bought the entire Narnia collection and am having a hard time getting
through them all. I don't understand why. This is one case where I may
like the movie better than I do the books. (And I know there's people
who think I should be stoned for saying so)

12) The Screwtape Letters - C.S. Lewis.
AWESOME book. It's Christian themed, but it's really, really a great
book, and not just a little twisted. I don't know what more I can say
that wouldn't be a spoiler, except the protagonist is a demon... but
I'd recommend it to anyone. (I read this entire book at Missy's house
on New Years Eve and New Years Day.

13) Hereos, Gods and Monsters of the Greek Myths - Bernard Evslin.
I'm a huge lover of mythology, especially ancient Greek and Aztec for
some reason. This book was *way* too short for me. They didn't even
have all the Gods written down. Heracles was missing, and that didn't
sit too well with me. It's great for a quick read though.

14) Haunted - Chuck Palahniuk. The single most demented, sick, twisted book I have ever read in my life. I felt violated and mind-raped. I loved it...after
the initial shock of reading some of the perverse depictions of the
protagonists of this book...(there are many). It's basically a
collection of many short stories but these people are all connected.
Really, it's a very gory story. I feel the need to have my mind
scrubbed with bleach after reading it, but at the same time, it was
awesomely and realistically written. The author himself scares the hell
out of me just having the mind to come up with all that crazy weird
stuff, and yet I almost want to have his babies. (Well not really, but
you know what I mean). Just that kind of freaks me out as well because
I'm reminding myself of those psychotic women who fall in love with
serial killers on death row.

To anyone else who has read this
book, what do you think? Is my reaction to the book that bizarre? Maybe
it's fresh because I just got finished reading it. Just wow.

15) Diary - Chuck Palahniuk. This one was a lot more subtle than Haunted
but still gave off that aura of creepiness. I'm not sure if I enjoyed
it as much or not, it certainly didn't have the extreme shock value.
But there was something that kept me interested. Maybe it was the
bitterness of the protagonist and wondering why she even fell for her
husband in the first place.

16) The Door to December - Dean Koontz I can't believe I never read this book! Now I have to own it! The twist is incredible
and only comes at the very end of the book. You feel sorry for that
poor little girl. It was so sad, but at the end...yeah, you have to
read it for yourself if you haven't. I'm thinking about becoming a Dean
Koontz fan. This is 3 books I love of his so far.

17) Horror Stories - chosen by Susan Price
- This has a lot of obscure, older writings in it as well as "more
modern" authors. Of course, Stephen King is probably the only name
brand, recognizeable author in the bunch. There's writings by Edgar
Allen Poe, Algernon Blackwood, and people I don't even recognize, with
even a dark Scottish folktake thrown in there. I enjoyed this book much
more than the next.

18) The Horror Hall of Fame - edited by Robert Silverburh and Martin H. Greenberg.
This was okay...I liked the choice of "The Fall of The House of Usher"
by Edgar Allen Poe, but this book was hard pressed to hold my
attention. I got through it, and this is the one I skipped around
reading, this and the book I'm about to mention.

19) Mary, Queen of Scottland and the Isles - Margaret George
This was a fascinating book, if extremely long winded. I finally was
able to get into it, but it took a long time. I'm fascinated with
novels and stories in the 16th century era, because the experience is
so vastly different than novels and stories set in the modern era. Mary
was a very strong character, which pretty much was her downfall. I
enjoyed the book, but I wouldn't recommend it unless you have a LOT of
time on your hands, and like historical novels.

20) Hannibal Rising - I was so thrilled to see that it was out in
paperback at Walmart tonight, I just had to buy it. I loved Silence of
the Lambs, Hannibal (the book not the movie) was AWESOME and I also
read Red Dragon. Three killer books! (hehe pun intended, and I know it
sucks). And this book was a waste of $6 and two whole hours of my life
that I want back. Promising start, weak ending! Sell. Out. It
was a terrible book. In my opinion. I realize others may have a higher
opinion of the book. I'm too annoyed and disappointed. I was SO excited
about getting a look into Lecter's childhood and the transition from
child genius to calculating monster. I was completely unsatisfied with this read. Probably one of the worst
books I've read all year. Now to dig up that booklist and try and scrub
the bad smell that book left as in imprint on my brain.

Oh, thank You!

http://wouldjesusdiscriminate.com/

A Pro-gay Christian website. It asks and answers
the exact questions I've been having about Christianity and the
same-sex relationships issue. I've found 95% of Christians I know
personally have issues with same-sex relationships based on biblical
arguments.

This gives biblical examples, going back to the
ancient Greek and Hebrew translations of different words to describe
just exactly how Jesus and the early church stood on homosexuality.

I'm
going to do more research on ancient Greek as it relates to the Bible,
especially concerning this because it does affect me. I can't explain
how happy this makes me. Because I've known for years, in my heart,
that Jesus could not and would not exclude people based on who they choose to love.
I say known, because I've never understood how people could take a
belief that started with "For God so loved the world," and turn it into
"...except gay people."

Truthfully, it's people who've
led me away from God, when in reality, I should have been listening to
my own heart. I beg of you all, if you love me, click the link and read
the website. There is one person I really, really need to talk to. Two
actually, her and her husband. You know who you are.

Sunday, March 18, 2007

http://www.gospeltruth.net/children/pearl_tuac.htm

Please tell me this is a spoof, that people don't really believe this shit.

An actual quote...

"One
of our girls who developed mobility early had a fascination with
crawling up the stairs. At four months she was too unknowing to be
punished for disobedience. But for her own good, we attempted to train
her not to climb the stairs by coordinating the voice command of "No"
with little spats on the bare legs. The switch was a twelve-inch long,
one-eighth-inch diameter sprig from a willow tree.

Such was her
fascination with climbing that four or five sessions had not made her
stop. The thought of further spankings was disconcerting, so I
conceived an alternative. After one more spanking, I laid the switch on
the bottom step. We later observed her crawl to the stairs and start
the ascent, only to halt at the first step and stare at the switch. She
backed off and never again attempted to climb the stairs, even after
the switch was removed."

This website, "Gospel Truth" is advocating child abuse. Not just child abuse...which is bad
enough...but using a SWITCH on an infant? People who actually do this
should die while being flayed alive and massive amounts of salt poured
into their gaping wounds.

Among their other insights:

-
Training children not to climb stairs: Stand at the top of the stairs
and coax the small child (usually no more than crawling age) to try to
climb up to you. When they do, beat them for it.
- Training a
breastfeeding baby not to bite mommy's breast. How? By pulling their
hair when they do. There was made mention other alternatives for bald
babies, but it didn't say what they were.
- A father training a 10-12 month old baby to come when called by beating the child while he is playing with a toy.

Seriously. Some people should not breed.
